Terms of service

1. The service

A Life in Film makes a family gift video from the answers, photos and videos you send. The script, the narration, the music and the photo animation are made with AI, and are checked by us and by you before delivery. The service is provided by [business name, registration number, address].

2. Orders and payment

The price of each package and add-on appears on the site and in the summary before payment, in US dollars [including VAT]. Payment goes through an outside payment provider (Polar), and we don’t store your card details. Work on the video starts only after the payment is approved.

3. Your photos and content

You confirm that you are allowed to use the photos, videos and details you send, and that the people in them don’t object. You give us permission to use them only to make your video. We don’t use them for advertising or to train AI models.

4. Narration and voice cloning

For narration in a family member’s voice, the voice’s owner records a consent sentence themselves, and without it we won’t clone the voice. The cloned voice is used for one video only, and is deleted together with the recordings 30 days after delivery. AI narration uses ready-made professional voices, not the voice of anyone in the family.

5. Approvals and revisions

Before the full production you see how the photos are arranged, read the script and watch each chapter, and you can ask for changes. The number of revision rounds in each package appears in its description. The content is written from the details you gave, and AI can make mistakes, so it’s important to go over the script and the video before your final approval.

6. Delivery

The delivery time of each package appears on the site and counts from payment and the completed questionnaire, not including time the order spends waiting for your approval. Rush delivery is available as an add-on.

7. Cancellation and refunds

8. Using the video

The video is yours, for personal and family use: show it at the event, send it and post it online. The music we make is original, so you can post the video online without copyright trouble. If you add a song of your own, you confirm that you have the right to use it in the video, and the responsibility for its rights is yours alone. Social networks may mute or block a video with a well-known song.

9. Privacy and data retention

Photos, videos and questionnaire answers are deleted 90 days after delivery. An unpaid order that no one has touched for 30 days is deleted. More in the privacy policy.
